Swing Bed

At South Sunflower County Hospital, our Swing Bed Unit provides skilled care for patients who require ongoing hospital care as they transition from acute care back to their own home. This allows the patient to transfer to SSCH where they can be closer to their home, family, and friends.

Our rehabilitation team offers an individualized, hands-on approach to providing physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. We also have a newly renovated hospital and therapy gym with state-of-the-art equipment. These therapy services are offered to patients recovering from joint surgeries, recent strokes, and/or prolonged hospital stays that have left them deconditioned. All patient rooms are private. No local doctor is needed for a referral to be made.

Swing Bed Services

Because Swing Bed programs are located inside hospitals, there are many specialized services offered to allow patients to achieve the maximum level of function before returning home. These services include:

●In-house Therapy Services

●Discharge Planning/Social Services
●Activities Program
